Our Vineyards: Ripton, Vermont

Planted in 2008, our Ripton vineyard is located on a south-facing slope at 1,100’ above sea level. Although the vineyard site was forested prior to being cleared to plant grape vines, the old stone walls in the surrounding woods speak to a time when much of the area was cleared for lumber and sheep pasture. The gravelly soil at our Ripton vineyard supports red varieties Marquette and St. Croix, and white varieties La Crescent, St. Pepin, Brianna, Osceola Muscat, and Prairie Star.
